I have drawn and coloured from the moment I could hold a pencil. I love to play about with different media and I adore colour, tone, shape and form. And texture!!
I was taught to colour within the lines and that the thing you're drawing should look like the thing that you're drawing. However, throughout my life I have developed my own visual language to represent what I see and to bring it to life on the page of a sketchbook or on anything I can lay my hands on!
When I’m not drawing or drinking copious amounts of coffee, I work in my other roles and spend time with my family. I am a Children’s Nurse by trade and currently I work in a boarding school as a School Nurse. That adds colour to my days, I can tell you! Inspiration can strike at any time, and I draw what interests me. I love people watching and people appear in my work over and over again. I love to capture expressions, clothes, and activities. When I was younger, I loved drawing legs. Knees especially. I drew inspiration from black and white 1950’s images in novels and I see that style in my work today , albeit with added colour.
ABOUT ME
I am based in the Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The town is filled to the brim with fabulous coffee shops, good food, the longest street of independent shops in the UK, and of course my family. I enjoy teaching my two children things I wish I had known when I was younger. I am happy to say that I have passed my messy creativity to them.

My home life is chaotic and colourful, I have had to contend with cats sitting on my work and dog walking over my canvasses , but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Drawing is huge but other things that bring joy to me are camping in the van with my family and friends, banging out out of tune songs on my ukulele by a campfire and getting everyone to sing under the stars. I love hills and countryside and making the most of the beauty that surrounds us. I hope that my joy of life is reflected in my work.
